David Moyes delivers hugely promising double injury update that will delight West Ham fans after the win over Crystal Palace.
West Ham made it back-to-back wins for the first time since before the November international break when they followed up the 4-1 win at Watford by beating Palace 3-2 last night.
But the game looked to have come at a cost when Ben Johnson – deputising ably for Aaron Cresswell since returning from injury – was substituted at half-time.
Cresswell remains out with no return date set. And centre-back Issa Diop is seriously struggling to impress as he fills in for the injured Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna.
So Johnson’s withdrawal was a huge worry for West Ham fans after the game.
But Moyes delivered a hugely promising double injury update on Johnson and Zouma that will delight West Ham fans after the Palace win.
The Scot revealed that Johnson is not injured and was subbed as he was on a booking.
And Moyes also confirmed that Zouma is so ahead of schedule in his return from injury that it may alter West Ham’s January transfer plans.

“A defender is in our priorities but if we get Kurt back (soon) that might alter it,” Moyes said in his post match press conference (Football.London).
“The longer it (Covid situation) goes on five subs would be my choice. I have had a change about it with the welfare, I would have liked to have used another sub as I took Ben off because he was booked.
“I thought I had one left and called Yarmolenko back, my preference would be to have five.”
West Ham now have a rare free midweek before a run of three home games starting with the FA Cup clash against Leeds.
Moyes may well choose to rest key players for that game with two big Premier League matches against Norwich and Leeds again soon after.
