West Ham fans were left frustrated yet again as Jack Wilshere has suffered another injury setback.
According to The Mirror, Wilshere’s ankle injury is worse than initially feared and he could face up to five weeks on the sidelines.
And The Sun reports that he may need surgery if it doesn’t recover with rest, meaning he would miss the remainder of the season.
It is his second ankle injury since making his summer switch from Arsenal, penning a three-year deal after joining on a free transfer.

Wilshere started West Ham’s first four games of the campaign but they all ended in defeat.
The 26-year-old then suffered an ankle injury which kept him out for three months.
In early December, the England midfielder made his comeback as a late substitute against Newcastle United, providing an assist for West Ham’s third goal.
But he suffered an injury in training to his other ankle, which now looks more serious than first thought.
