West Ham fans loved Fredericks' stunner in Macclesfield thrashing

It isn’t often that football fans just get to enjoy a stress-free evening; where their side pours forward and scores at will.

West Ham had exactly that last night. Struggling League Two outfit Macclesfield rolled into town to face a largely second string Hammers side; they left having been dispatched 8-0.

There really wasn’t much to complain about. Fringe players Lucas Perez and Robert Snodgrass got on the scoresheet and debutant Grady Diangana slotted home twice as well.

It was a strong evening’s work and showed that the players who have not been a central part of Pellegrini’s mini-revival following the international break are still hungry to prove their worth.

Another player who struggled initially this season but responded well last night was Ryan Fredericks.

The full-back’s move from Fulham got off to a faltering start, but he capped an impressive display with a stunning goal.
