West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen should be hoping that Bukayo Saka’s positional change at Arsenal continues on a permanent basis ahead of the World Cup.
Bowen has been a regular in the England squad under Thomas Tuchel, although the West Ham United skipper has only been afforded 216 minutes by the Three Lions head coach.
Competition for places on the right wing is fierce. Saka has been the undisputed starter there for years now, while Noni Madueke has impressed under Tuchel.
What is YOUR favourite Jarrod Bowen moment, and why?
However, what’s happening over at Arsenal is interesting. Saka played centrally for the Gunners against Wigan in the FA Cup and Mikel Arteta later confirmed it could happen again.
Speaking to reporters after their 4-1 win over Wigan, Arteta said: “That’s something that’s a possibility and I wanted to try it, and we might use it in the future.”
The No.10 spot for England is also hotly contested. However, Jude Bellingham is currently injured and has rarely ever seemed like he’s in total favour under Tuchel. Cole Palmer has also suffered with injury.
Morgan Rogers currently has the spot, but perhaps Saka can offer competition should this continue at club level, which could feasibly open up a gap on the right.
If that really is the case, then Bowen would surely fancy his chances over Madueke. Tuchel likes working with Bowen, who is in fine form ahead of the World Cup.

Jarrod Bowen’s statistics compared to Bukayo Saka and Noni Madueke
Taking this season in isolation, Bowen’s statistics stack up very well against the Arsenal duo’s.
Indeed, the Hammers star has more goals and assists than the pair, despite playing in a team several rungs below Arteta’s side in terms of quality.

On a per-game basis, neither are averaging as many shots as the Irons star, while he also produces more dribbles than Madueke.
Out of possession, Bowen is tied with Saka for tackles per game but beats Madueke in that particular metric.
How do these appointments make you feel about the relegation battle? 👀
Jarrod Bowen’s role under Thomas Tuchel for England so far
Tuchel has used Bowen sparingly for England thus far but something as drastic as Saka moving position could perhaps open up an opportunity.
Bowen has only started two games under Tuchel thus far but he is the top scoring Englishman in the Premier League right now, based on players who have recently appeared in Tuchel’s set-up.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin (10) is the only English player to have scored more than Bowen (8) this season but the Leeds forward hasn’t been in the Three Lions squad for years now.
