The 2016-17 Premier League season was the fifth successive one for West Ham since their return to the top flight. What follows are some of the important numbers for the season.

The team reverted to normal this season by picking up 12 league wins. Since returning to the Premier League in 2012-13 they have won 12, 11 and 12 games in the following seasons. Making last years 16 wins was the outlying stat.

This was the second lowest points return from a season since 2012-13, 17 fewer than last year. Only 2013-14’s return of 40 points was lower since they were relegated.


Number of different league goal scorers. 47 goals were scored in total which was the second highest of the last five years.

The highest number of goals conceded in a Premier League season since 2010-11

The fourth season out of the last five where West Ham have finished with a negative GD. This years was the biggest difference since 2010-11.

Top scorer Michail Antonio scored nine this season, the third season in five that no player has scored double digits.


The clubs longest winning run stretched just three games between 14th – 26th December.


The longest unbeaten run this season between 8th April – 5th May.

Highest amount played by Cheikhou Kouyate. He made 76 tackles in that time, higher than anyone else and is an average of one every 35 minutes.


Manuel Lanzini played the most number of games during the league season with 35.

Although there were times that the club flirted with relegation the stats show that it was an average season in the end. None of the figures above show a particular increase on the previous seasons. 2015-16 season was the outlying year as the figures were so much higher, this year shows a revert to type for he club.
