West Ham co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold have released a joint statement ahead of tomorrow’s clash with Tottenham, urging the club’s fans to get behind their team.
The Hammers are in the midst of a really poor run of form. They are winless in six games, and have fallen from fifth spot down to 16th place in the Premier League table.

Tomorrow’s game against Tottenham is a huge one for West Ham. A win would see them jump back up into mid-table, whereas a defeat would pile even more pressure on Manuel Pellegrini, and they would be staring a relegation battle in the face.
And Sullivan and Gold pleaded with the Hammers fans to support their team to the hilt tomorrow, via the club’s official website:
“On Saturday we come together at London Stadium for what we all hope will be a return to winning ways in the Premier League. We know that the recent performances and results have not been good enough but everyone remains absolutely committed to turning things around as quickly as possible, and the manager and players have our full support and belief. As we know, Saturday’s encounter is a unique and special date in the calendar. The match that many of us first look for when the fixtures come out in the summer. It is an opportunity to show the passion and pride that makes our supporters famous around the world, and to illustrate the effect your positive backing can have on the team throughout the game.”
Tottenham have a new manager in the form of Jose Mourinho. So they will undoubtedly be hard to beat.
West Ham will have to be on their very best form if they are to beat their London rivals.
