The West Ham media team have proved that they have learnt from the pre-Liverpool game debacle, with their featured ‘five things to look out for’ segment for the club’s official website.
Before the Hammers played the Reds at the end of last month, the media team put out a strange ‘five things to look out for’ piece.
All but one of the five were related to Liverpool players. And they took a pasting for it on social media. It was swiftly edited to focus more on the Hammers.
This time, however, they have obviously learned their lesson.
The feature piece on West Ham’s official website lists the following five things to look out for…
1. West Ham can jump out of the bottom three
2. The Claret and Blue Army’s loud and loyal support
3. Jarrod Bowen’s knack of scoring against new opponents
4. Manuel Lanzini to draw on fond memories of September 2015
5. Pablo Zabaleta’s emotional Etihad swansong
Hopefully the Hammers can bring the three points back with them from Manchester. In truth, just a point would do.
David Moyes’s men are bang in trouble at the moment. They are inside the bottom three, and relegation down to the Championship is looking like a very realistic prospect.
The players have made plenty of mistakes so far this season.
And perhaps they can learn as quickly as the media team clearly have.
