West Ham star Jarrod Bowen sat down for an exclusive interview with the London Evening Standard, and shared what Liverpool ace Andy Robertson told him after the game at Anfield on Monday night.
The 23-year-old joined the Hammers from Hull City on transfer deadline day in January for around £22 million (The Guardian).
Bowen has only made two late substitute appearances for West Ham thus far, however, and he hasn’t really been given a chance to prove his worth yet.
The former Hereford man was on fire for Hull City in the Championship this season, racking up 16 goals and seven assists in 29 games (Who Scored).
And the talented attacker will be hoping to replicate that kind of form for the Hammers between now and the end of the season.
Bowen spoke to the Evening Standard, and shared how Andy Robertson congratulated him on Monday night on his move to West Ham:
“I spoke to Robbo briefly after the game and he told me, ‘Well done on the move, just go and smash it’.”
West Ham face Southampton at home next. And Jarrod Bowen must surely start the match. The Hammers need his drive and attacking intent desperately.
If he can score six or seven league goals between now and the end of the season, West Ham will have a great chance of avoiding relegation.
Whether David Moyes is ready to give him a chance, however, remains to be seen.
