West Ham loanee’s audacious celebration after two-goal cameo proves he has arrogance on tap

West Ham United have numerous young talents out on loan right now.

Sending our best young players out on loan deals to clubs that are suited to them hasn’t been West Ham‘s forte over the past few years.

The West Ham academy is one of the best and most highly revered youth setups in English football.

However, West Ham do need to start producing more stars, rather than fully functioning under-18 and under-21 teams.

In fact, the Hammers have hindered most of our young talents by facilitating horrendous loan deals, namely Callum Marshall’s move to West Brom last year.

With the current crop of youngster coming through at the London Stadium, it will be vital for the club to get the loan moves spot on going forward.

Graham Potter has the futures of many talented youth players in his hands, and it would be great if some of them could emulate our shining star of the bunch.

West Ham loanee George Earthy has arrogance on tap

What a night it was for the 20-year-old Hammers loanee at Ashton Gate on Friday.

With Bristol City trailing 1-0 at home to Middlesbrough, George Earthy entered the fray after 63 minutes.

He proceeded to score in the 72nd and 82nd minutes, to win the game for the Robins – what an incredible impact!

Earthy is a huge talent, and he was called up to the England under-21s a few months ago.

The 20-year-old is very highly rated at the London Stadium, and Mark Noble absolutely raved about the midfielder, after he picked up the under-21s player of the season back in May last year.

He proved that he’s ready to make an impact at Premier League level at the end of the 2023/24 season, with a goal against Luton Town at the London Stadium.

And Earthy showed us all last night that he has that little bit extra in his locker, outside of his natural talent.

Cheeky George Earthy celebration a great sign

The 20-year-old completely turned around the game for Bristol City against Boro on Friday night.

And after his winning goal, he dropped a truly filthy celebration that you can watch below via Sky Sports:

You may be wondering what celebration that is. Well, if you watch the goal that put Middlesbrough ahead inside the first-half you will get it straight away.

Tommy Conway put the away side 1-0 up and slid on his knees with his fingers in his ears. His celebration was aimed at the home fans, quite clearly.

Conway used to play for Bristol City, and only left to move to the Riverside six months ago.

So the fact that West Ham owned George Earthy emulated the Conway celebration proves that he’s got huge character, the right amount of arrogance and immense courage for someone so young.

He is actually a really humble young man off the pitch, but clearly has that little bit extra when he’s playing.

And young players need that little bit of spice in order to make it at the very highest level.

The 20-year-old belongs on the biggest stage, and I’m convinced that we will see him shine for the Hammers next season.
