West Ham insider ExWHUemployee has today refuted suggestions that Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini could still be sacked in spite of yesterday’s fine win over Southampton.
The east London outfit were in the midst of a terrible run before they played the Saints. They had won just one of their last 10 Premier League games – a run that saw them drop down to 16th place in the table.
The Hammers’ win over Southampton has really lifted everyone at the club, however. And now there is genuine optimism that they can start pushing for the top 10.
News broke last night that Pellegrini could still be sent packing before West Ham’s next game on Boxing Day against Crystal Palace, however.
The Daily Star claims that the Hammers board have five names lined up to replace the Chilean, if they do in fact decide to pull the trigger.
That suggestion appears to be wide of the mark, however.
ExWHUemployee took to Twitter, claiming that to his knowledge, the West Ham board have no immediate plans to sack the 66-year-old:
West Ham now have 11 days off until they play again. They travel to Crystal Palace on Boxing Day, and Pellegrini will be desperate for another win to help keep his critics at bay.
