West Ham insider refutes Roberto Mancini suggestion

West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini is under real pressure.

His Hammers side have fallen to 16th place in the table after a run of just two points from six games.

And the east London outfit now sit just five points clear of the drop zone.

Everything seems to be going wrong at West Ham.

The players look totally devoid of confidence, and it is hard to see where their next win is coming from.

The Hammers face Tottenham at home after the international break, and a defeat against their London rivals really would pile the pressure on Pellegrini.

It could be argued that now is the right time to get rid of the Chilean. He seems out of ideas and lacks inspiration from the touchline.

Before the former Manchester City manager was handed the reigns at the London Stadium, West Ham wanted to appoint Roberto Mancini, according to the Mirror.

And it has been suggested on Twitter that the Hammers should go back in for the current Italy boss.

That was quickly refuted by well-informed insider ExWHUemployee, however:

And he’s spot on. Mancini, a four time league champion with Manchester City and Inter Milan, is highly unlikely to be tempted into a move to West Ham, considering his current role as Italy boss.

David Gold and David Sullivan have a big decision to make over the next couple of weeks. It seems like the time is right for a change.

But who they go for is another matter all together. It seems as though Mancini might be out of their reach, however.
