West Ham insider ExWHUemployee has suggested that Felipe Anderson’s injury is not too serious after he missed today’s win over Southampton.
The Hammers insider initially claimed that the Brazilian had suffered an injury in training yesterday.
West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini claimed that he was out due to sickness, however.
Either way, ExWHUemployee claimed that Anderson should not be out for too long:
The 26-year-old joined the Hammers from Lazio for £41.5 million in the summer of 2018. And despite a fine debut campaign in England, he has really struggled this term.
The problem now facing Pellegrini is that West Ham actually looked like a better side without Anderson.
On his day, the former Lazio man is a game-changer. But he just hasn’t produced on a consistent enough basis this season.
West Ham now have the blueprint for success. 4-4-2 is clearly the way forward. And Anderson might find it hard to force his way back into the team, even if he is declared fit to play the next game.
In a way though, that might be just what he needs to motivate him to perform in the future.
