Daniel Sturridge has terminated his contract with Trabzonspor (Sky Sports), and some West Ham fans are worried that he could end up at the London Stadium.
There should be no immediate concerns, however. The 30-year-old is banned from football anywhere in the world until June, having been found guilty of breaching the FA’s gambling regulations (Sky Sports).
Sturridge joined Trabzonspor on a three-year deal after his contract expired with Liverpool in the summer of 2019. And he really impressed in Turkey, with seven goals and four assists in 16 appearances to his name (Transfermarkt).
He is now a free agent once again, however.
And the 26-capped England international will undoubtedly be linked with a plethora of English clubs between now and the end of the summer transfer window.
A Champions League winner with Liverpool, Sturridge has enjoyed a fabulous career thus far. But his problems with injuries really hindered his latter years at Anfield.
Sturridge has been mooted as a potential transfer target for West Ham for the past couple of years (Football.London).
But some Hammers fans really don’t want their club to sign the injury prone hitman…
