West Ham United fans are famed for their wit and creativity when it comes to terrace chants.
Whether it is taunting Liverpool fans with their Paolo Di Canio chant, the inventive hokey cokey Arsene Wenger ditty or even making fun of themselves by singing about West Ham’s vaunted claret carpet last season.
And it seems the famous East End humour and ear for a song is alive and well.
Recently a chant which started life on social media was adopted by Hammers fans during games.

Following in the same vein as the world famous Toure brothers chant to the tune of No Limit, West Ham fans have been singing Yarmolenko and Issa Diop.
And now West Ham supporters have another new chant at the ready.
Fans, including reliable West Ham insider ExWHUemployee, have been championing a new chant on social media to the tune of the Proclaimers classic I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles).

The chant appears to have been started by a West Ham fan called Brad Palmer on Twitter.
And it goes a little something like this:
I would walk 500 miles
And I would walk 500 more
Just to be the fans that walked a thousand miles to watch the West Ham score
YARMOLENKO, YARMOLENKO, YARMOLENKO, YARMOLENKO
Na, na, na, nanna, nan, nana

The new chant could make its debut against Newcastle United on Saturday.

Although it is a home game, the opposition is quite apt given the 500-mile round trip required for the game between the two clubs.
West Ham will need all the support they can get.
And they will also need another good game from Andriy Yarmolenko, who has been West Ham’s only consistent attacking performer so far this season.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side have not won any of their last five games and drew 1-1 with Sheffield United last time out.
