West Ham fans think Savio Nsereko is worst Hammers signing of all-time

Some West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to debate the worst signing in Hammers history, and many opted for Savio Nsereko.

The Hammers signed the now 30-year-old from Italian side Brescia in January 2009 for a fee believed to be worth £9 million (The Telegraph).

Savio really struggled in east London, however. He was clearly just not cut out for the Premier League.

It would be fair to say that he wasn’t even good enough for League Two!

The former Germany under 20 international played 11 games in all competitions for West Ham, and he failed to score a single goal (Transfermarkt).

Savio was quickly moved on. He was sold to Fiorentina just five months after joining the Hammers.

West Ham have made some truly awful signings throughout the years. Marco Boogers, Simone Zaza, Alvaro Arbeloa and Jonathan Calleri all take some beating.

It could be argued that Savio, signed by Gianfranco Zola, was the worst of the lot, however.
