West Ham fans tell Nuno what to change vs Everton; Kante leapfrogs Freddie Potts

What would you change at West Ham United if you were in Nuno Espirito Santo’s shoes ahead of Saturday’s must-win Premier League clash against Everton?

That was the question we at Hammers News asked our TalkingPoint users as David Moyes prepares for his East London homecoming.

Would you bring Adama Traore in from the start? Is it time Aaron Wan-Bissaka came back into the XI in place of Kyle Walker-Peters? Does West Ham United’s midfield need some beefing up; Freddie Potts or Soungoutou Magassa parachuted in to combat the box-crashing brilliance of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall?

What changes would you make to this team? Feel free to tell me how wrong I’ve got it 😂

While Nuno is confident Pablo Felipe will start scoring soon, Monday’s 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace was his 12th game without a goal since joining the Hammers. Should Callum Wilson partner Taty Castellanos?

And what about Mohamadou Kante? The wildcard option but, clearly, a popular one too.

The good news, we suppose, is that this is a Hammers squad with some semblance of squad depth these days.

At the time of writing, 33 per cent of you voted to see Wan-Bissaka start against Everton.

Walker-Peters performed capably in his absence following DR Congo’s extended World Cup celebrations. Up against the tricky Iliman Ndiaye, though, Wan-Bissaka’s elite one-v-one defending would surely come in extremely handy.

Wan-Bissaka received the most votes from our TalkingPoint users, with Adama the runner-up on 28 per cent.

Can you spot anything interesting in West Ham’s pre-Everton training session?

There is an argument to be made, perhaps, that Traore should slot in on the right-hand side, thus freeing up Jarrod Bowen to move into a more central position behind the centre-forward.

Bowen was marked diligently by Crystal Palace; stuck out on the touchline and unable to influence things in the final third.

Interestingly, only 11 per cent of you voted for Wilson to start, despite the veteran boasting the best minutes-per-goal ratio in Nuno’s squad. It says a lot about Potts and Magassa’s underwhelming recent appearances, meanwhile, that Kante’s inclusion would receive a lot of support among sections of the fanbase.

Kante is yet to start a Premier League match, playing only 38 minutes in the competition. Then again, the former Paris FC kid is also untainted by the failures of recent West Ham past.
