West Ham United fans are getting it all wrong regarding comparisons between Mohammed Kudus and Wolves star Matheus Cunha.

Wolves forward Matheus Cunha has been banned for two games from the FA, and there are parallels between his misdemeanours and those of West Ham star Mohammed Kudus.

However, those comparisons are well wide of the mark.

Some Hammers fans think we’ve been treated unfairly.

Cunha has been handed a two-game ban and an £80k fine by the FA for for acting in an “improper manner” following a clash with an Ipswich Town staff member (Sky Sports).

The news breaking today regarding Cunha’s situation has angered some West Ham fans after the incident involving Kudus during our loss to Tottenham, and the subsequent action taken against the Ghanaian.

Whether the Brazilian should feel fortunate after that somewhat lenient ban is up for debate.

It is also dubious as to which incident out of the two was worse.

However, some Hammers fans are completely misunderstanding the situation.

Some Hammers fans are highlighting double standards after Mohammed Kudus was banned for five-games following his dismissal for violent conduct during our 4-1 defeat to Tottenham in October.

However, there is a big difference that many are missing.

Kudus was sent-off for throwing punches at opposition players, and he was subsequently handed the usual three-game ban for that.

However, the FA stepped in and hit him with an extra two-game ban due to the severity of his moment of madness.

So the truth of the matter is that the bans given to Mohammed Kudus and Matheus Cunha are identical.

The only difference being that Cunha was not sent-off on the pitch for his moment of ill-discipline.

There is big confusion surrounding this point it seems, but the fact is, the FA have hit Matheus Cunha with the exactly the same punishment that Mohammed Kudus was handed – a two-game ban.
