According to a report from Swedish media outlet Fotbollskanalen, Arsenal, Manchester United and Rangers sent scouts to watch West Ham owned Sead Haksabanovic in action for IFK Norrkoping against Brondby in the Atlantic Cup on Friday.
And some Hammers fans are annoyed that he has not already been recalled by the club.
The 20-year-old joined the Hammers in the summer of 2017 from Halmstads, for a fee believed to be worth £2.7 million, according to the Evening Standard.
But he desperately struggled to make any kind of impact at the London Stadium. A failed loan move to Malaga followed, but he has finally found his feet in Sweden during a loan stint with IFK Norrkoping, racking up eight goals and eight assists in 34 appearances thus far (Transfermarkt).
If the reports are true, and clubs like Arsenal and Manchester United are keeping a close eye on the Montenegro international, then surely he must be doing something right.
But are West Ham monitoring his progress too? Some Hammers fans don’t think they are…
Not paying attention to the 20-year-old’s form could prove costly
And the fans are spot on. Surely he deserves to be given a chance at West Ham next season, considering the fact that he has been so good this term?
The Premier League is obviously a massive jump up in both quality and intensity from the Swedish league. But he absolutely must be given the opportunity to prove what he can do.
Hopefully the Hammers are keeping in contact with Haksabanovic, however. At least that way he will still feel wanted.
On the other hand, if they are not not, it seems like he could get that chance at one of the Premier League’s big guns.
