Jason Cundy tore into West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini when speaking on talkSPORT yesterday, and some Hammers fans took to Twitter in reaction to his comments.
The Chilean is under intense pressure, with his side having taken just two points from their last six league games.
Things looked really bright for West Ham after six games. They had just beaten Manchester United and were right in contention in the race for the top four.
Pellegrini then fielded a weakened team against Oxford United in the Carabao Cup. The Hammers were dumped out of the competition by the League One side.
All their momentum was lost, and the rest is history.
Cundy laid into Pellegrini when speaking to talkSPORT, blaming the club’s board for making what was a ‘lazy’ appointment:
“The results since they got knocked out by Oxford in the League Cup have been atrocious. I said at the time that I didn’t see Pellegrini as the manager to move West Ham forward. I thought it was a lazy appointment. He went out to China, and I don’t think he could believe his luck that a Premier League club – and a big Premier League club like West Ham – were prepared to give him an opportunity.”
And Cundy is spot on. Pellegrini seems to be devoid of ideas and lacks any kind of passion on the touchline.
The writing seems to be on the wall for the Chilean, and some West Ham fans took to Twitter in reaction to the talkSPORT pundit’s comments…
