West Ham fans react to Arthur Masuaku update

According to sports journalist Jonathan Masiala, Arthur Masuaku has picked up an injury whilst away on international duty. And some Hammers fans have reacted to the claims on Twitter.

Masuaku has been a hugely divisive figure since joining West Ham from Olympiacos in the summer of 2016 for around £6 million (Sky Sports).

The 26-year-old has been infuriating to watch at times. He has been lacklustre in both his physical displays and mental aptitude.

But those accusations cannot be levelled at him this season.

Masuaku has been excellent when deployed in the left wing-back role. The 26-year-old suits our new 5-4-1/3-4-3 system perfectly.

And he has become absolutely pivotal to our hopes of achieving any kind of success this season.

If the former Olympiacos man is forced to spend a sustained amount of time on the sidelines, we could be in real trouble.

The West Ham fans have been calling for a new left-back/left wing-back to be signed since the end of last season. And strengthening in that particular department now seems like an absolute necessity.

And some Hammers fans have taken to Twitter in reaction to the news that Masuaku has picked up an injury…
