Amadou Diallo has signed his first professional contract with the club, as confirmed by West Ham’s official website, and some Hammers fans took to Twitter in reaction to the news.
There has been plenty of negative news emanating from the London Stadium in recent weeks and months.
And it is understandable as to why. West Ham are deeply entrenched in a relegation battle. With some incredibly tough games on the horizon, relegation down to the Championship is beginning to look like a very real prospect for the Hammers.
It’s not all doom and gloom, however. West Ham have some really exciting young talents on their books.
And Diallo committing his short-term future to the club is undoubtedly good news.
The 17-year-old is very highly rated in east London.
The young winger has racked up two goals and two assists in 11 appearances for the Hammers’ developmental side this season (Transfermarkt).
If Diallo continues to improve, he might just have a very bright future at West Ham.
