West Ham played host to Everton in the Premier League today, and some fans were not happy with Sebastien Haller’s poor finishing.
The Frenchman had plenty of gilt-edge chances – especially in the first-half, but he failed to convert any of them.
The 25-year-old joined the Hammers from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer of 2019 for £45 million (BBC).
Haller, who earns £110,000 per week according to Claret and Hugh, has really struggled to establish himself in east London, however.
He has scored just six goals in 22 appearances for West Ham, and has been a real disappointment, considering his reputation when he arrived from the Bundesliga.
The former Eintracht Frankfurt hitman needs to be more involved in the Hammers’ build up play. And considering his size and stature, Haller really should make more of a nuisance of himself.
It is, of course, still very early days, and perhaps too soon to judge the 25-year-old. But he undoubtedly needs to start showing more than he has done thus far, if he is to succeed in the Premier League.
In Haller’s defence, he did look very strong in the air against Everton. But that clearly wasn’t enough to impress the London Stadium faithful.
And some West Ham fans criticised Haller on Twitter for his poor finishing against the Toffees today…
