Albian Ajeti made his competitive debut for West Ham last night in the Carabao Cup against Newport County.
The Switzerland international arrived in east London from Basel earlier this summer for around £8 million, according to BBC Sport.
And he is expected to provide quality cover and competition for Sebastien Haller and Javier Hernandez.
The 22-year-old, who earns £30,000 per week according to Claret and Hugh, boasts an impressive goalscoring record, with 43 goals in 96 games for Basel to his name.

West Ham and the Premier League will be a real step up for Ajeti, however. The pace and intensity of the English game will be like nothing he has ever experienced before.
And he must be given time to adapt to his new surroundings.
Many foreign imports find it hard to hit the ground running when they move to the Premier League. And the Swiss ace will be no different.
Some West Ham fans took to Twitter after last night’s win over Newport in reaction to Ajeti’s display for the Hammers:
Had a couple of moments. Nice hold up play a few times. No major disasters

Didn’t get great service but team need to learn his strengths

Needed to make more solid runs. He will get better with time but wasn’t as quick as I thought he would be

Haller can play on his own up top but Hernandez definitely needs to play as a 2 and looks like Ajeti will too, couple of headers but seemed weak when the ball was played to him

I think pretty much every cross when straight over his head unfortunately. Showed positive signs & brand new to English football.

So so bad. Well off the pace

What did Ajeti do? Was a bit of a ghost imo

Thought he did alright considering he had no service half the time

Looked quite promising really. Seemed like he knew today was an opportunity to show what he can do and albeit he didn’t bag a goal, he certainly looked hungry and clearly caused the defence some problems. Look forward to seeing more of him 👍🏼⚒
