West Ham skipper Mark Noble shared how much his side’s poor recent run has affected him when speaking to the Evening Standard, and some Hammers fans took to Twitter in reaction to his comments.
The east London club are on one of their worst runs in recent history. They have won just two of their last 11 Premier League games. And they have fallen down to 15th spot in the table, just one point clear of the drop zone.
Although yesterday’s win at Southampton has majorly lifted the mood in east London.
Panic is really beginning to set in at the London Stadium. Could relegation be a genuine possibility this season? On current form, without a doubt it could be.
West Ham fans are angry, disillusioned and extremely frustrated.
And Noble clearly feels the same.
The 32-year-old Hammers skipper told the Evening Standard:
“Don’t tell me that players couldn’t care less when their team are going through a bad run, as we are. It kills me because I desperately want this club to do well. It has a big effect on my life in general. I’m miserable at home and although I try not to show it because I have a wife and two kids, I can’t help it as football is my life. As captain of West Ham, I need, above all, to be positive when I go into training and I’m around the players.”
Noble clearly cares a lot about the club he has supported all his life.
And the West Ham fans are no different.
