West Ham suffered a shock loss to Oxford United in the Carabao Cup last night.
There were plenty of Hammers players who quite simply just didn’t show up.
One player in particular was the target of heavy criticism from the West Ham fans, however.
Carlos Sanchez, who earns £50,000 per week according to Spotrac, put in a woeful display against Oxford.
The Colombia international joined the Hammers from Fiorentina in the summer of 2018, for a fee believed to be worth £4 million, according to the Sun.
The 33-year-old has been nothing short of a total flop at the London Stadium, however. He has made just 13 appearances for West Ham. And it is no exaggeration to say that he has failed to impress in all of those outings.
Sanchez seems to be nowhere near the level required to succeed in England. He even looked off the pace against League One side Oxford last night.
And some West Ham fans took to Twitter after the game, slating the South American for his woeful display at the Kassam Stadium…
