West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini spoke to reporters after yesterday’s win over Norwich City, and claimed that Tim Krul was the best player on the pitch.
The Hammers put in a first class display against the Canaries, and their 2-0 win saw them rise to fifth spot in the Premier League table.
Sebastien Haller opened the scoring for West Ham, before Andriy Yarmolenko opened his account for the season with a second-half strike.
The Hammers look like a force to be reckoned with this season. And if they keep up this form, a top six spot will be well within their reach.
In truth, West Ham should have won by a far greater margin against Norwich.
The east London outfit had 18 shots to Norwich’s eight, with eight of those finding the target.
And had they been more clinical, it could have been a real thrashing.
West Ham boss Pellegrini spoke to reporters, and singled out Norwich stopper Tim Krul as the man of the match, as quoted by the club’s official website:
“Today we scored two goals, but Krul was the best player on the pitch – he made four or five brilliant saves and we could have won with a bigger difference.”
West Ham now have two weeks off before they face a trip to Aston Villa, and a win at Villa Park really would get the Hammers fans dreaming of European football next season.
