West Ham were linked with the signing of Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky in the January transfer window.
With Mads Hermansen out of form at the time, the Hammers felt they needed to strengthen their goalkeeping department.
The Spurs youngster was potentially available on loan for the rest of the season, but a move never materialised.
West Ham will now be delighted that they did not sign Kinsky after his dismal performance in the Champions League.

The fixture we all dread… 😮💨
How on earth can West Ham beat City WITHOUT Summerville?
Antonin Kinsky struggles in Spurs’ Champions League defeat
Tottenham boss Igor Tudor selected Kinsky to play instead of Guglielmo Vicario against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night.
However, the 22-year-old was substituted off after just 16 minutes of the Champions League round-of-16 first leg.
He gifted Atletico two goals by slipping inside the penalty area and left Tudor no choice but to take him off.
Some might say that Kinsky was unlucky, especially as he was not the only player to slip, but that would be too lenient.
At the highest level of professional football, making the same mistake twice within 10 minutes is difficult to excuse.
How do you feel about Mads Hermansen NOW? 🇩🇰 🧤
Has he won you over? Or are there still doubts?
It may seem harsh, but Kinsky has unfortunately proven that he cannot handle the pressure at this early stage of his career.
West Ham are fortunate that Tottenham did not allow him to move on loan in the January transfer window.
The Hammers’ defence, including goalkeeper Hermansen, has improved drastically since the window closed.
We will never know, but it seems highly unlikely that Kinsky would have inspired a similar resurgence in Nuno Espirito Santo’s team.
