Robert Snodgrass suggested that he is purely focused on being a good teammate at West Ham, as he struggles for first-team action, when speaking exclusively to the Glasgow Evening Times.
The 31-year-old joined the Hammers from Hull City in January 2017 for a fee believed to be worth £10.2 million, according to BBC Sport.
He joined Aston Villa on loan during the 2017/18 campaign, before returning to West Ham last season.
And the Scotland international enjoyed an impressive campaign last season. He racked up nine assists and four goals in 38 appearances in all competitions for the Hammers.
He has struggled for game-time this term, however, making just one Premier League start.
Snodgrass told the Glasgow Evening Times how is prepared to keep working hard, however, supporting his West Ham teammates in the process:
“If you’re not playing me, just be honest with me. I’m fine with that. I’m going through that state at West Ham just now. When that happens you need to be a good team-mate. If you have a team full of boys like that you’ll go further.”
On his day, Snodgrass is a really useful player, but he might just have to be patient before he gets his chance again this season.
Michail Antonio’s injury will undoubtedly open the door for him, but Andriy Yarmolenko seems to be ahead of him in the pecking order.
The Scot is thoroughly professional, however, and he could still be a very important part of West Ham’s squad this season.
