West Ham were unlucky to lose to Arsenal yesterday, and Michail Antonio took to Twitter in reaction to the defeat.

The Hammers were far more dangerous than the Gunners throughout the game. But their profligacy in front of goal cost them dearly.

There were many West Ham players who produced excellent displays.

Unfortunately, Michail Antonio was not one of them.

The 29-year-old had a day to forget. It is hard to criticise him, however, considering how much he brings to the side.

The former Nottingham Forest man offers the Hammers something that they do not otherwise possess, what with his pace and power.

He always gives 100 per cent, and is a constant menace to opposing defenders. The West Ham man just had an off day yesterday. It’s as simple as that.

And Antonio took to Twitter after the game yesterday in reaction to his side’s unfortunate defeat to Arsenal:

Make no mistake about it. West Ham really need Antonio to be firing on all cylinders between now and the end of the season.

When he’s on form, he’s unplayable.

And he is still arguably the Hammers’ best hope of avoiding relegation this season.
