West Ham ace Arthur Masuaku spoke exclusively to the club’s official website, and shared the message that Manuel Pellegrini gives him every time he plays.
The 25-year-old joined the Hammers from Olympiacos in the summer of 2016, for a fee believed to be worth £6 million, according to Sky Sports.
The Democratic Republic of Congo international has racked up 78 appearances for West Ham.
He has been somewhat of a divisive character at the London Stadium over the past few years, however.
Masuaku has been in fine form this season, however, and West Ham fans are now seeing the best of the left-back.
He will be desperate to return to action in a couple of weeks, and prove to Manuel Pellegrini that he is a better option than Aaron Cresswell.
The former Olympiacos man is an attack-minded player. And he told the club’s official website how Pellegrini urges him to put his attacking instincts to good use:
“Every time the gaffer tells me to pass and go because I’m quick. This is what I’ve done and I’m just happy that I have an assist.”
The left-back will surely be delighted that his manager places so much emphasis on the attacking side of his game.
And Pellegrini must be commended for giving one of his defenders such attack-minded advice.
West Ham face Aston Villa away next on September 16th. And Masuaku will surely start the game after his display vs Norwich on Saturday.
And the 25-year-old could end up being a really important player for the Hammers this season.
