West Ham striker Albian Ajeti suggested that he can help get the best out of Sebastien Haller, when speaking exclusively to the club’s official website.
The 22-year-old joined the Hammers from Basel for around £8 million in the summer, according to BBC Sport.
He has hardly played thus far, however. The Switzerland international has made just three outings in the Premier League – all cameo appearances from the bench.
Ajeti has started two games, both in the Carabao Cup, and in truth, he hasn’t made much of an impact at all for West Ham.
The former Basel man came on at half-time against Newcastle on Saturday, however, and showed glimpses of what he is capable of.
And Ajeti told WHUFC.com how he can make Sebastien Haller’s life a whole lot easier if he is picked to play:
“Big thanks to the coach for the trust he gave me. I appreciate it and I will work even harder now. I hope to see more chances, and can make the game easier for Sebastien when we play with the second striker so we will see what happens in the future.”
Haller has been misfiring of late. He looks to be totally isolated, thus rendering his excellent hold-up play as somewhat redundant.
So playing Ajeti alongside the Frenchman might be a useful option for West Ham.
And Haller, who earns around £100,000 per week according to Frankfurter Rundschau, would surely be grateful of the support from the Swiss ace.
