Football.London have suggested that Albian Ajeti being frozen out by West Ham boss David Moyes is ‘very odd’.

The Switzerland international joined the Hammers from FC Basel in the summer of 2019 for around £8.5 million (Football Insider).

The 23-year-old has desperately failed to establish himself at the London Stadium, however.

In fairness to Ajeti, he hasn’t been given much of a chance to prove himself, however.

He has had to make do with a place on the bench. And even then, Moyes always seems to prefer to bring others on instead of him.

Bleak Hammers future for Ajeti?

The Swiss hitman hasn’t played any Premier League minutes since January 18th, and that was just a six-minute cameo against Everton.

Ajeti hasn’t even been in the squad for West Ham’s last four games.

His stats do make for grim reading this season, however. He has failed to register either a goal or an assist in 11 games for the Hammers (Transfermarkt).

There is definitely an argument to made, however, that Ajeti quite simply hasn’t been used enough. Surely Moyes should have given the 23-year-old more of a chance?

Football.London suggest that the Scot freezing out Ajeti is a very odd move. And it’s hard to disagree with that verdict.

Obviously we are unsure when football will resume as things stand.

But whenever the Premier League does kick off again, it will be interesting to see whether Moyes gives the former FC Basel man more of a chance.

If Ajeti is continually left out the squad for the final nine games, however, his days will surely be numbered at West Ham.
