Jonathan David would be a truly stunning signing for West Ham United this summer.
But is Jonathan David joining West Ham in the summer transfer window realistic in any way?
Big change lies ahead at the London Stadium this summer, and West Ham have been heavily linked with Jonathan David over the past few weeks.
Graham Potter is said to be plotting a big squad revamp at West Ham, and boy do we need exactly that.

One of Potter’s key tasks will be to bring a top-class striker into the club.
The Hammers cannot allow another summer window to pass by without sealing a deal for an elite centre-forward.

Niclas Fullkrug isn’t up to it, Danny Ings will be leaving and nobody knows what the future holds for Michail Antonio right now.
David would certainly be someone who could help take West Ham to a whole new level entirely.
Two ways West Ham can seal Jonathan David deal
Let’s be real here, the Hammers’ hopes of bringing the Canadian to the London Stadium seem unrealistic right now.
However, there’s always a chance, and stranger things have happened in football.
David has been in sensational form for Lille this season with 23 goals and 10 assists in 40 games in all competitions.
In total for Lille he has 107 goals and 27 assists in 223 games (Transfermarkt), and he is a truly special striker.
He possesses blistering pace, incredible movement and sensational finishing ability.
It’s little wonder why some of the best clubs in the world want to sign him.
Now, one way West Ham can beat other clubs to David’s signature is by selling him a hugely exciting project.
If the owners show some real ambition and back Graham Potter to the hilt, the Canada international may well be tempted to join us.

However, the 25-year-old will have to be guaranteed that other top players will be joining as well.
West Ham could throw serious cash at Jonathan David
If selling a crazy project to David doesn’t work, the Hammers can always offer him an extortionate pay packet.
I’m not suggesting that that is the correct route to go down.
However, we have to be realistic here – we can’t offer him guaranteed trophies or Champions League football.
In fact, we can’t offer him any kind of European football right now.
So to beat our competitors to his signature, we will have to go to great lengths.
Whether the West Ham board are actually prepared to do either of the things mentioned above in order to sign Jonathan David remains to be seen though.
