Tony Cascarino criticised West Ham trio Felipe Anderson, Manuel Lanzini and Pablo Fornals, when writing his regular column for the Times.
The Hammers are in the midst of a woeful run of form, having taken just two points from their last seven league games.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side have fallen to 16th place in the table, and they are now just five points clear of the relegation zone.
After beating Manchester United in September, West Ham have totally lost their confidence and momentum.
Apart from Declan Rice, nobody has covered themselves in glory over the past two months.
And Cascarino named three Hammers players in particular who have let their side down recently, when writing his column for the Times:
“Flair players, such as Manuel Lanzini, Pablo Fornals and Felipe Anderson have gone missing too often. Pellegrini has credit in the bank but, with matches against Tottenham and Chelsea next, his position could be under more scrutiny.”
And Cascarino is spot on. All three players mentioned have been so far off the pace over the past six weeks or so. And because of their displays, Pellegrini’s side have looked totally toothless in attack.
West Ham now have two weeks to rectify things on the training ground during the international break.
Next up is Tottenham at home. And nothing less than a win will do for the Hammers if they are to get their top six hopes back on track.
