Tony Cascarino blasted West Ham for the poor quality of their set-pieces, when writing his regular column for the Times.

The Hammers have been extremely wasteful from corners and free-kicks this season. And they were quite simply dreadful from dead-ball situations against Sheffield United on Saturday.

It must be really frustrating for West Ham fans, because it isn’t as if they don’t have anyone who can whip in a decent cross.

Felipe Anderson, Robert Snodgrass and Manuel Lanzini are all ‘supposed’ set-piece specialists.

And those three names really need to put in some extra work on the training ground over the the course of the next few weeks and months.

Cascarino didn’t hold back in his criticism of the West Ham players after their poor quality of delivery on Saturday, when writing his regular column for the Times:

“West Ham were terrible [from corners]. They could not have set a worse example for how to be a threat from corners. They had ten of them, none of which troubled Sheffield United. Every delivery was poor. You will not go anywhere in this league without good set pieces.”

West Ham have plenty of aerial threats including the likes of Issa Diop, Fabian Balbuena, Angelo Ogbonna, Declan Rice and Sebastien Haller.

So they really should be taking advantage of the set-piece situations they have in the final third.

And it will be interesting to see whether they improve from corners and free-kicks over the the next few games.
