Tim Sherwood has backed Tottenham to beat West Ham 2-1 on Saturday.

Spurs and the Hammers desperately need a victory this weekend.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side sit in 14th spot in the table, having taken just three points from their last five games.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men, meanwhile, sit in 16th place after going six league games without a win.

It could be argued that Saturday’s clash is the most important match between Tottenham and West Ham in recent times.

Should Spurs lose, they will surely kiss their top four hopes goodbye. Whereas if the Hammers fail to win, they will be staring a relegation battle in the face.

And Sherwood backed his former club to rack up a vital three points at the London Stadium, when speaking during an appearance on talkSPORT’s Alan Brazil’s Sports Breakfast (Monday, 9:15am):

“It is a massive game for both clubs and both sets of fans. Both desperately need a win, but I think Spurs might nick a 2-1 win.”

West Ham won the last time the two sides met, with Michail Antonio’s strike enough to give his side a 1-0 victory.

Tottenham have won their last three trips to the London Stadium, however, and this one really is incredibly hard to call.

One thing is for sure though, if either side lose, it could spell the end for Manuel Pellegrini or Mauricio Pochettino.
