The West Ham United XI Nuno has to pick against Brentford is bad news for Callum Wilson

Nuno Espirito Santo has the luxury of a fully fit squad from which to choose ahead of West Ham United’s Premier League showdown against Brentford.

A clean bill of health is certainly not to be sniffed at with so little time left in the season, particularly when closest relegation rivals Tottenham are enduring such a crisis on that front.

What would you say has been the biggest TURNING POINT in our season?

Indeed, Brentford versus West Ham will be a very difficult test for Nuno, but his task is made slightly easier by having a full complement available.

With that in mind, here’s a look at the team Nuno should name on Saturday.

Wilson should not start for West Ham against Brentford

Why change a winning formula?

The only genuine debates surely come at right-back and up front. Still, Kyle Walker-Peters is playing well for West Ham, and has done little to warrant being dropped for Aaron Wan-Bissaka just yet.

Elsewhere, Nuno admits Callum Wilson’s form is causing him a team selection headache right now.

What changes are you making to this team? Just don’t think Wilson should start 😬

West Ham’s best XI vs Brentford (4-4-2): Hermansen, Walker-Peters, Mavropanos, Disasi, Diouf; Bowen, Soucek, Fernandes, Summerville; Pablo, Taty

There are some who would no doubt love to see Wilson – a much better guarantee of goals at this level than Pablo Felipe or Taty Castellanos – get more of a chance.

Still, Wilson’s best role is as a substitute, surely. There’s certainly an argument that the forward deserves more minutes – he certainly wants them – but it’s difficult to make a convincing case that he should start games.

Taty and Pablo have their flaws but their energy and industry up front will be needed, particularly away from home as the Irons look to keep compact.

That’s not to say that Wilson doesn’t have a key role to play, just that there’s little reason to stray from what proved successful on Saturday.

The blueprint has been set and players like Wilson and Adama Traore can make an impact off the bench.
