The major positive from West Ham hiding to Arsenal after months of pundit garbage

There is one major positive from the West Ham hiding to Arsenal after suffering months of garbage from so-called expert football pundits.

In an effort to scrape the very bottom of a depressingly empty barrel, there is a one glimmer of light at the end of a dark tunnel following West Ham’s embarrassing 6-0 defeat at home to Arsenal.

David Moyes has been dividing opinion among West Ham fans for well over a year now.

And it all came home to roost in this humbling to Declan Rice and his Gunners.

Ahead of the clash Hammers News declared that Moyes must be brave and go at Arsenal from the off.

The rationale being that – having hauled themselves back into the Premier League title race last weekend – the Gunners have it all to lose.

The major positive from West Ham hiding to Arsenal

Mikel Arteta knows his side cannot afford to drop any points if they are to have a realistic hope of winning the league.

So West Ham should have played on that, got in Arsenal’s faces and gone at them to expose any jangling nerves.

Instead Moyes’ all too predictable risk averse approach sucked the life out of the London Stadium from the get go.

And it was clear the Hammers players did not buy into the gameplan either. You only needed to witness the embarrassing half-hearted first half display to realise that.

Months of pundit garbage

If you listen to journalists and pundits – most of whom are so focused on the so-called “Big Six” they don’t really have a clue what is going at at West Ham – then Hammers fans should be more grateful to Moyes and happy with their lot.

Clubs like Spurs and Aston Villa are allowed to want their team to play exciting, attacking football and get results.

But apparently West Ham aren’t?

Well that’s the major positive from the West Ham hiding to Arsenal after months of pundit garbage.

Because not one self-respecting journalist – most of whom are too scared to use their privileged position in press conferences to ask Moyes real questions anyway – will dare criticise or question West Ham fans’ ire towards the manager now.

Hammering has been coming

How could they?

West Ham fans have seen this coming. There is a reason why a large section of supporters have been so angry with the way Moyes sets up this Hammers team.

Bournemouth proved there are managers and coaches out there – who most punters or pundits may never have heard of – capable of getting their team playing quality attacking football.

The Cherries played West Ham off the pitch the other week.

West Ham fans are entitled to want and expect a more attacking, front-footed approach.

This utterly ludicrous performance and defeat will silence the sycophantic pundits who continually defend Moyes without knowing the facts.
