Carlos Sanchez joined West Ham from Fiorentina in the summer of 2018, for a fee believed to be worth somewhere in the region of £4 million, according to the Sun.
The Colombian has been nothing short of a total flop for the Hammers, however.
And the fact that he is still at West Ham is quite frankly laughable.
The 33-year-old has made just nine appearances for the east London outfit. And he failed to impress in every single one of those.
Sanchez is slow and cumbersome, and he seems to be well off the pace and level required to be a success in the Premier League.
His 10 minute cameo for West Ham away at Brighton on Saturday was further evidence of the fact that he should be nowhere near the Hammers’ starting XI.
The Hammers have plenty of good central midfield players, and if Pellegrini thought he needed more in that area, why did he not make a move for someone like Victor Wanyama before the transfer window closed?
If the Chilean truly wants to take West Ham forward, his first port of call must be to get rid of Sanchez in January, or next summer at the very least.
