Graham Potter faces a hugely important summer transfer window ahead at West Ham United.
The West Ham squad is in serious need of attention after some key areas were negligently ignored by Graham Potter‘s predecessors.
The good news is that Graham Potter is planning a squad revamp at West Ham in the summer window.
The Hammers head coach needs to add some more youthful exuberance to his ranks at the London Stadium.

West Ham have the oldest squad in the Premier League, after some really poor squad building from David Moyes and Julen Lopetegui.

The Hammers are said to be in the market for an incredible double deal for Jonathan David and Angel Gomes.
That double transfer, if we manage to get it done, would improve the squad significantly AND bring down the average age of our starting XI at the same time.
However, Potter will have to raise some funds as well by moving on numerous players before the start of next season.
Funds tight for Graham Potter at West Ham ahead of the summer
Potter will have to be thrifty with his player recruitment during the off-season it seems.
That’s because funds are tight at the London Stadium, due to apparent overspending recently.
The summer of 2024 saw Julen Lopetegui and Tim Steidten waste a serious amount of money on very average players.
The likes of Niclas Fullkrug, Luis Guilherme, Guido Rodriguez and Carlos Soler were all highly questionable.
Meanwhile, the decision to let James Ward-Prowse leave on loan was a terrible one. At least Potter and the board atoned for that particular error in the January window.
Now the Hammers boss has to clean up the rest of the mess left behind by Lopetegui and Moyes before him.
That certainly won’t be easy with so many substandard players currently stealing a living at the London Stadium.
Graham Potter must get rid of these six West Ham players
As far as I’m concerned, the following players are not good enough to play for the Hammers…
Konstantinos Mavropanos
The Greece international is an absolute calamity. The frustrating thing is that he actually looks decent for large parts of games, before nearly always making a catastrophic error. He is not fit to play Premier League football, what with his awful decision making and poor positional awareness. Potter must ship him out as soon as the summer window opens.

Nayef Aguerd
The 28-year-old has to be sold this summer. I really don’t like the claims suggesting that Potter wants him amongst his squad next season. He has proven time and time again that he’s not strong enough to play in the English top flight. West Ham have to sell him while his stock is high.
Guido Rodriguez
One of the very worst signings West Ham have made in recent years. The Argentinian is painfully ill-suited to Premier League football, what with its intensity, physicality and frenetic pace of play. The Hammers actually could make a profit on the 30-year-old as well. Selling him should be a no-brainer.
Maxwel Cornet
The 28-year-old winger is currently out on loan with Genoa in Italy, and he has actually impressed for Patrick Vieira’s side. However, it’s clear for everyone to see that Cornet isn’t fit to play in the Premier League, and the Hammers have to move him on by whatever means necessary this summer.
Andy Irving
I get that the Scot is somewhat of a cult hero at the London Stadium, but we all need to be honest with ourselves here…Irving is a Championship player at best isn’t he? The 24-year-old knocks it about well enough but he hardly ever moves the ball forward, and always seems to take the safe option. Irving hasn’t got that ‘special sauce’ needed to make it at the very highest level of the game unfortunately.
Danny Ings
Ings, 32, will be out of contract in the summer, so it’s no surprise at all that he features on the list. He has proven to be a horrendous signing from David Moyes with just five goals in 68 games to his name for West Ham United (Transfermarkt). I would be genuinely stunned if the Hammers offered him a new contract.
In addition to those names are loanees Evan Ferguson and Carlos Soler, both of whom I believe will be shipped back to Brighton and Paris Saint-Germain respectively at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Niclas Fullkrug is someone who will probably be sold as well. The reason he didn’t make the list above is purely because he is actually a decent striker on his day, it’s just the fact that he’s so injury prone that means he won’t succeed in the Premier League.
And then there are other names like Lukasz Fabianski, Aaron Cresswell and Michail Antonio who are approaching the end of their current deals.
If Graham Potter really is planning a big squad rebuild at West Ham this summer, he will probably want to keep those three experienced players around, in order to help with the transition.
One thing’s for sure though, plenty will be moved on.
Mavropanos, Aguerd, Rodriguez, Cornet, Irving and Ings are six names who I can almost guarantee you will not be at West Ham next season.
