According to a report from Claret and Hugh, West Ham are ready to trigger an option to extend Robert Snodgrass’s contract by a further year.

The 32-year-old joined the Hammers from Hull City in January 2017 for around £10 million (BBC).

He has since gone on to rack up nine goals and 16 assists in 79 appearances in all competitions for West Ham (Transfermarkt).

Snodgrass has been in fine form for the Hammers this season, with five goals and five assists to his name in 24 Premier League games (Transfermarkt).

In those 24 outings, the midfielder has averaged 21 passes per game with an impressive completion rate of 77.8%. He has also averaged 1.4 key passes per game (Who Scored).

It could be argued that the Scot has actually been one of West Ham’s best players this season.

His contract is due to expire in the summer of 2021.

But Claret and Hugh claims that the Hammers are ready to trigger an option to extend that deal by another year.

And in truth, Snodgrass will be more than deserving of that.

If Premier League action resumes sooner rather than later, the Scot will surely be a key player for West Ham for their final nine games of the season.
