According to a report from French media outlet Le 10 Sport, West Ham are hopeful of using their connection with former chief executive Paul Aldridge to help secure a deal to sign Marseille midfielder Morgan Sanson.

Aldridge joined the Ligue 1 outfit as a transfers advisor in January.

He was a well-known figure at West Ham and was was infamously involved with the Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano transfer sagas.

And it now seems as though the Hammers will try and use their connections with Aldridge to help snare Morgan Sanson in the summer.

That’s according to Le 10 Sport anyway.

West Ham allegedly wanted to sign the 25-year-old Frenchman in January.

Le 10 Sport reported that the Hammers had an offer for Sanson rejected, with Marseille valuing the midfielder at around £30 million.

Stats

The 25-year-old has racked up five goals and five assists in 27 Ligue 1 outings for Marseille this season (Transfermarkt).

Sanson is a very well accomplished passer of the football.

In 27 league appearances, the Frenchman has averaged 30.1 passes per game, with a very impressive completion rate of 85.9%. He has also averaged 1.1 key passes per game (Who Scored).

Sanson is not afraid to contribute defensively either.

In those 27 outings, he has averaged 2.2 tackles and 0.9 interceptions per game (Who Scored).

The Marseille ace is clearly an all-round midfielder. And for £30 million, he might just turn out to be a real coup for West Ham.

And hopefully the Hammers’ connection with former chief executive Paul Aldridge will help them bring the 25-year-old to the London Stadium in the summer.
