West Ham right-back Ryan Fredericks is not scheduled to return to action until around April 20th now, according to Football.London, having initially been ruled out for six weeks after suffering a shoulder injury against Manchester City on February 19th.
The 27-year-old joined the Hammers on a free transfer in the summer of 2018, after his contract had expired with Fulham.
He has gone on to make 38 appearances for West Ham (Transfermarkt). But in truth, he hasn’t really impressed during his time in east London.
Fredericks’ form this season has been patchy at best. And he seems reluctant to use his explosive pace to good effect.
During the right-back’s absence, Jeremy Ngakia has burst onto the scene. And the 19-year-old’s exceptional form has meant that the Hammers haven’t really missed Fredericks.
Having the former Fulham back involved with the first-team will still be a boost for David Moyes nonetheless.
Football.London claims that Fredericks could be out until April 20th, however. The initial prognosis was that the 27-year-old would miss six weeks of action (BBC).
That would have meant that the right-back would have been ready to return to action around April 1st.
But it now seems as though Moyes will have to wait a little while longer before he is able to call upon the West Ham ace once again.
