According to a report from the Sun, Sebastien Haller is upset at being blamed for West Ham’s current problems.
The Frenchman, 25, arrived at the London Stadium from Eintracht Frankfurt in the summer for around £45 million, according to BBC Sport.
Haller has really struggled to make an impact, however. The Hammers hitman has scored just four goals in 16 games. And he has racked up just one in his last 13 outings for West Ham.
In fairness to the 25-year-old, he has been completely isolated up front on his own. So some of the blame must lie with Manuel Pellegrini.
Many West Ham fans are unhappy with Haller’s work ethic. They feel that he should be doing more, despite the fact that he is getting little help from his teammates.
And the Sun claims that the Frenchman is not happy at being made somewhat of a scapegoat.
Manuel Pellegrini could try and change the striker’s fortunes by playing two up top and giving him some support. But the stubborn Chilean seems to be oblivious to the fact that a 4-4-2 might help his side turn the corner.
Haller could still come good of course. But the early signs are that he is struggling to adapt to the Premier League.
He is in no way to blame for West Ham’s problems, however. The real root of their struggles begin with the board. And until the two Daves are gone, the Hammers will struggle to make any kind of progress.
