According to a report from Football.London, Roberto could be finished at West Ham if he is overlooked in favour of David Martin against Tottenham on Saturday.
The 33-year-old joined the Hammers in the summer on a free transfer.
Roberto was signed based on a recommendation from Mario Husillos.
And he has proven to be nothing short of a disaster for West Ham.
Roberto has deputised for Lukasz Fabianski for the past five games. And he has already made a number of high profile errors that have cost his side dearly.
It is quite clear and obvious that the Spaniard is not good enough for the Premier League, and certainly not good enough for a club looking to force their way inside the top six.
And Football.London claims that Roberto’s days at the London Stadium could be numbered if Manuel Pellegrini opts to start David Martin ahead of him against Tottenham on Saturday.
And West Ham fans will surely be delighted if that turns out to be the case.
The former Espanyol man has been a truly shocking signing for the Hammers. And the club’s board must not allow similar mistakes to be made in the future.
Whether David Martin proves to be any better than Roberto, however, remains to be seen.
