The Athletic are reporting that West Ham are now ‘at a consultation stage’ over stadium plans to bring fans closer to the pitch.
The Hammers plan to install two tiers of seats in the Sir Trevor Brooking and Bobby Moore stands in an effort to bring fans closer to the pitch.
West Ham moved to the London Stadium in the summer of 2016. The Hammers fans were promised great things. But as things stand, the stadium move hasn’t quite gone to plan.
In 71 home Premier League games since the start of the 2016/17 campaign, West Ham have racked up just 27 wins. That quite clearly is not good enough.
There is a distinct lack of atmosphere at the London Stadium, especially when compared to Upton Park.
Part of the problem is that the fans are so far away from the pitch. The Boleyn Ground was claustrophobic for visiting teams – the polar opposite to the current setup at their Stratford home.
It seems as though the east London outfit’s owners are trying to address that, however.

And that is great news for West Ham fans. There is obviously still a long way to go. But at least they appear to be on the right track.
