According to Football.London, West Ham have an Overriding Priority Principle clause in their London Stadium contract, giving them priority to finish their home games past June if need be.
The current Premier League campaign is on hold until April 30th because of the recent coronavirus pandemic.
Many believe that it will be longer than a month before action resumes, however.
And that could be a problem for West Ham.
The Hammers still have five home games to play in the Premier League this season.
The concession agreement West Ham signed when they moved to the former Olympic Stadium ahead of the 2016/17 season enables the stadium’s other tenants, UK Athletics, to have the arena from the last Friday in June and ending on July 31 or August 1 if the first is a Sunday.
But Football.London have some good news. They claim that the Hammers have an Overriding Priority Principle clause in their London Stadium contract. This would enable them to have priority over UK Athletics, should the Premier League campaign run into July or even August.
So it seems as though West Ham will have no problem finishing off their games at the London Stadium this season.
Who knows what will happen, however. The remaining games could still be played behind closed doors of course.
