According to a report from Football.London, West Ham ace Tomas Soucek is expected to return from injury in time for the Hammers’ trip to Tottenham Hotspur next month.
The 24-year-old midfielder joined the east London outfit on loan until the end of the season from Slavia Prague in January.
West Ham allegedly have an exclusive option to make the deal a permanent one too, if they remain in the Premier League.
And if the east Londoners do just that, they will surely activate said option.
Soucek has been incredible for the Hammers thus far. In three outings for West Ham, the 20-capped Czech Republic international has racked up eight tackles (75% success rate), eight interceptions, 12 clearances and eight ball recoveries. He has also won 22 individual duals and 12 aerial battles (premierleague.com).
The 24-year-old has brought some much need energy, athleticism and dynamism to the Hammers’ play in the middle of the park. So it will be a huge boost to get him back playing as soon as possible.
Soucek went off against Liverpool on Monday night with a suspected hip injury.
But Football.London claims that the 6ft 4in ace could be back in time for West Ham’s clash away at Tottenham on March 20th.
The Hammers will most likely need to take something from their game against Spurs. And their chances of doing just that will increase dramatically if Soucek is in the team.
