According to a report from Claret and Hugh, West Ham have added Frenchman Christophe Galtier to their list of potential candidates to replace Manuel Pellegrini.

The Chilean is under real pressure, having overseen a horrendous run of form from his Hammers side.

West Ham have drawn two and lost five of their last seven Premier League games. And they have fallen down to 17th place in the table, just three points clear of the drop zone.

The Hammers are in a real relegation scrap, it’s as simple as that.

And if they fail to pick up any points over the next 10 days or so, Pellegrini could very well be given his marching orders.

Claret and Hugh claims that David Moyes, Sean Dyche and Chris Hughton are all in the frame to take over from the 66-year-old.

But there seems to be a new name on the list – Christophe Galtier.

The 53-year-old Lille boss guided his side to an impressive second placed finish last season, and he implements an exciting brand of football that West Ham fans would surely love.

Whether he would be interested in leaving Lille for the Hammers, however, is another matter entirely.

Much will depend on whether the owners can guarantee the Frenchman money to spend and total control over footballing affairs.

And if Pellegrini does end up being moved on, West Ham could do a lot worse than Galtier.
