With the season coming to a close, it only right that we start get linked with players once again. There has been a number of names already mentioned, and one such name that has come up is that of former West Ham player Michael Carrick.
Carrick who left us for Tottenham a year after we got relegated, after an unsuccessful promotion campaign, could be a player Moyes is looking to get rid of as he starts his rebuilding process. He previously featured against in United’s win against us, however at centre-back. He is a midfielder, and that is a position where we have plenty of options, but what we have to look at is is he better than what we have? I would say he is worth a look at. This is because although he is approaching the latter stages of his footballing career he could provide experience and some quality. Even if he wouldn’t start for us most weeks, he is a great option to bring off the bench.
I guess the big question for most fans would be, would you accept him back after moving to Tottenham? I think the majority would say yes. This is because he stayed with us after our relegation when the likes of Defoe and Cole left for bigger clubs. He only left after we were unsuccessful in our promotion campaign.
Would you take Carrick back?
